Make it portable.

Some of us really like portable programs. Also, writing programs should have a place on the desktop in my opinion, some kind of a 'minimode' similar to a gadget. It sits on the desk and then you have an idea you maximize and you can get in fast. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing options for a clock and alarms as this program seems rather nice at night, the screen works nice in 'night' with the lights off. This program would be good to write your dreams down or ideas that come at you in the night.
